1 Person Saunas: Compact Saunas for Daily Use at Home
A 1 person sauna is the most efficient way to add a sauna to your home. It takes up less space, costs less to run, and heats up faster than larger models. It is a good fit for personal daily use, smaller indoor spaces, or anyone who wants a dedicated spot to decompress without needing room for a crowd. Most 1 person saunas are available as infrared, traditional, or hybrid models. Infrared models tend to be the most compact and easiest to install. Traditional models give you the classic heater-and-stones experience. If you need room for more people, we also offer 2-3 person saunas and 4-6 person saunas.
Wide Range of 1 Person Saunas
Traditional 1 Person Saunas
A compact sauna with a traditional heater and stones. Heats up to full sauna temperature, gives you the classic sauna experience, and fits in a smaller space than you might expect.
Infrared 1 Person Saunas
Often the most compact option. Infrared models use infrared heaters instead of stones, run at lower air temperatures, and tend to be easier to place in a home gym, spare room, or bathroom.
Hybrid 1 Person Saunas
Hybrid 1 person saunas give you both infrared and traditional heat in one unit. Good for anyone who wants options, or for a household where preferences vary day to day.
How to Choose Your 1 Person Sauna
1. Heat Type
Infrared, traditional, or hybrid. Infrared runs at lower temperatures and is easier to install. Traditional runs hotter and gives you the classic sauna experience with a heater and stones. Hybrid gives you both. Pick based on how you plan to use it.
2. Indoor or Outdoor
Most 1 person saunas work well indoors, especially infrared models that plug into a standard outlet. Some outdoor models are available in compact sizes. Think about where the sauna will go before choosing the model.
3. Electrical Requirements
Compact infrared 1 person saunas often plug into a standard 120V outlet. Larger or traditional models may need a dedicated circuit. Check the specs before you buy.
4. Base and Placement
For indoor installation you need a flat, level surface. For outdoor models, a concrete pad, paver base, gravel pad, or deck all work. Make sure you have enough clearance for the door swing and any required ventilation.
Common questions
How much space does a 1 person sauna need?
Most 1 person saunas have an interior of about 3 to 4 feet wide by 4 to 5 feet deep. Add clearance for the door swing and access on all sides when planning placement. Compact infrared models can fit in a small corner of a room. Outdoor barrel or cabin saunas in 1 person sizes are usually the smallest models in those product lines.
Are 1 person saunas good for daily use?
Yes. A 1 person sauna heats up quickly, uses less energy than a larger model, and is sized for one consistent user. Most sessions run 20-45 minutes. Stay hydrated and follow the manufacturer's guidelines for your specific model.
How long does it take to heat up a 1 person sauna?
Infrared models typically reach operating temperature in 10-15 minutes. Traditional 1 person saunas usually take 30-45 minutes to reach full temperature. The exact time depends on the heater size, room size, and ambient temperature.
Can a 1 person sauna fit in a small apartment or house?
Many compact infrared 1 person saunas are designed for tight indoor spaces and can work in an apartment, condo, or small home. Look for models that plug into a standard outlet and do not need special ventilation. Check the dimensions carefully against the space you have in mind before ordering.
